Solicitors Defence Scheme

The Solicitors Defence Scheme is an insurance policy to protect solicitors' interests during investigations by the Law Society, or any other future regulator.

In the event a solicitors' practice faces any form of regulatory or disciplinary investigation, the scheme will provide a highly specialised legal team to advise and manage the process. There is an option of additional cover to ensure solicitors receive expert representation before the Solicitors' Disciplinary Tribunal and the Master of the Rolls. Underwriting capacity is provided by Leisure Union Insurance Company Limited via their UK Managing Agents Eastman Underwriting Agency Limited.

The scheme offers busy solicitors peace of mind in knowing that immediate expert assistance is available to meet the demands of the regulator and, if necessary, to represent solicitors' interests effectively at the highest level. The scheme reduces the stress, costs and intrusion associated with an investigation.

In the event of a claim, solicitors will be provided with the services of a specialist from our carefully chosen panel. We aim to ensure that all our clients are contacted within 24 hours of having informed us of a complaint or investigation.
